We are thrilled to share our latest project at Christina Hospital in the North West province! This extensive project covered 3000m² of floor and wall coverings, showcasing our expertise and commitment to quality in healthcare facility renovation.

Self-leveling screed installation is a critical process in creating a smooth, even surface for various types of flooring. This specialized material is applied to correct uneven subfloors, filling in low spots and ensuring a perfectly level base. Ideal for both commercial and residential projects, self-leveling screed provides a durable and stable foundation, making it essential for areas requiring high precision, such as hospitals, kitchens, and other high-traffic spaces. The result is a flawless, long-lasting finish that enhances the overall quality and longevity of the final flooring installation.

Project Overview

Scope of Work:

  1. Tal Moisture Barrier: Applied to ensure a strong foundation and protect against moisture issues.

  2. Tal Self-Leveling Screed: Used to create perfectly smooth and level floors, setting the stage for the final flooring.

  3. Subfloor Preparation: Carefully prepared to receive the Gerflor vinyl.

  4. Gerflor Vinyl 2mm Installation: Installed in the pharmacy and kitchen areas, using premium Gerflor MIPOLAM® Atlas vinyl for durability and ease of maintenance.

Our Approach: Step-by-Step Guide: Self-leveling screed installation

  1. Initial Assessment and Planning:We began by thoroughly assessing the existing floor conditions in both the pharmacy and kitchen areas. Our team developed a comprehensive plan to address any potential challenges and ensure that the final installation would meet the highest standards.

  2. Application of Tal Moisture Barrier:To protect the subfloor from any moisture-related issues, we applied a high-quality Tal moisture barrier. This step is crucial for ensuring the longevity and stability of the flooring, particularly in environments like hospitals where durability is essential.

  3. Tal Self-Leveling Screed Application:The next step involved applying Tal self-leveling screed. This material is designed to create a perfectly smooth and even surface, which is vital for the successful installation of the vinyl flooring. Our team ensured that the screed was applied with precision, creating a flawless base.

  4. Subfloor Preparation:Once the screed had set, we meticulously prepared the subfloor to receive the Gerflor MIPOLAM® Atlas vinyl. This involved checking the surface for any imperfections and making necessary adjustments to ensure a seamless installation.

  5. Installation of Gerflor Vinyl 2mm:Finally, we installed the Gerflor MIPOLAM® Atlas vinyl in the pharmacy and kitchen areas. This high-quality vinyl was chosen for its durability, ease of maintenance, and aesthetic appeal, making it an ideal choice for high-traffic areas in a healthcare setting.

  6. Final Inspection and Quality Assurance:After the installation was complete, our team conducted a thorough inspection to ensure that every aspect of the project met our rigorous standards. We are proud to say that the results speak for themselves, with the pharmacy and kitchen areas now boasting durable, hygienic, and visually appealing floors.
